We have built a network of organizations, thought leaders, community members and systems level stakeholders to partner together to create social change, and maximize impact. We use this network to create new partnerships, uncover funding opportunities, and optimize your institutions internal capacity to do the work.

Born in Queens, New York, but raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Richard is the Founder and Principal of the Radicle Solutions Group, a company purposed to strengthen and cultivate the capacity within organizations and institutions to maximize impact in the communities that they serve.

 

Mr. Crews has worked in areas ranging from the streets of South Phoenix with MentorKids USA to working in boardrooms leading CEO’s and Superintendents with Thriving Together, an initiative of United Way, to address the needs of all of Phoenix’s Children, Youth and Young Adults. He’s spoken nationally addressing issues including Race Power and Privilege, Disrupting the School to Prison Pipeline, the Importance of Cultivating Emerging Leaders, and Building Strong Authentic Relations Between Law Enforcement Agencies and Marginalized Communities. Mr. Crews’ work in equity has been featured by The Collective Impact Forum, Living Cities, and the Stanford University Social Innovation Review among other spaces. Currently he serves as the convener to Cultivate South Phoenix (CUSP), a coalition working to create equity through wellness, and education in South Phoenix, and serves on Sheriff Paul Penzone’s African American Advisory Board for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Crews is an Alliance Fellow with Vitalyst Health Foundation, as well as a Strive Together National Equity Education Fellow working to create equity in education in communities across the United States. Locally Richard was recently recognized as being among the Top 40 Diverse Leaders Under 40 by the Young Professionals of the Greater Phoenix Urban League.

 

Mr. Crews and his wife are proud parents of three boys, Jeremiah, Malachi and Jelani. His greatest passion is being an instrument in unlocking the space within individuals and organizations to operate intentionally, on purpose and with authenticity. Working from our truth allows humanity to cultivate a space to collaborate in solidarity to build better systems that reflect Justice instead of Just Us

Social Media Intern

Our firm is looking for a Non-Paid Social Media Intern to join our growing team. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to website redesign projects, monitoring and posting on blogs and social networks, engaging in online forums, participating in online outreach and promotion, optimizing our website and conducting keyword analysis. Those looking to gain valuable online media experience with an established organization are encouraged to apply. Additional compensation available through the production of revenue generating content. 

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement social media strategy
  • Provide support at live and online events
  • Capture photos and video for content during events and meetings
  • Assist in the general distribution of press releases and media alerts
  • Create engaging blog and social media content
  • Monitor analytics with social media team to identify viable ideas

Qualifications

  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and other social media platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 2+ years’ experience in social media/marketing
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop and other media editing tools

Policy Research Intern

Do you believe that data and policy has the ability to change communities? If so this is the internship for you.  We are looking for a Research Intern to work with our partners to do research on policy currently impacting communities and leading to disparities for marginalized populations, esp. in the areas of Education, Food Access, Health Equity, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Reform.

This position is unpaid. Interns are hired for employment on the academic semester schedule for fall, spring, and summer terms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist partners by conducting legislative research, developing policy fact sheets, tracking legislation, and attending legislative hearings and briefings.
  • Provide partners with support in research and analysis of various topics, organizations, and key players in the field.
  • Assist in the development of a legislative report card regarding Policy Makers and their track record concerning marginalized communities
  • Attend conferences, briefings, meetings, and forums as a representative of the Radicle Solutions Group and share information about those events with partners and staff.
  • Will have opportunity to create own project concerning policy and advocacy relating to your Theory of Change.
  • Provide any other support to partners and staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • A love for data and public policy
  • A desire to learn more about the inner workings of the impacts of policy at Local, State, County, and Municipal Levels
  • Ability to work with partners to find necessary data to inform initiative and program development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
